Let the Miracles Begins

I believe that God works miracles. Everyday. Around us, in us, through us. He is working miracles, often subtly, sometimes miraculously, but always certainly. And as we connect with Him, we will be opened to witnessing the miracles He is producing and begin to see Him working the miracle of our life into His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

That's what we see when Jesus turns the Water into Wine, His first of many miracles that prove He is God. Very subtly, God walked into a wedding and changed people's lives for the better. What is amazing about this is that the groom and bride as far as we know remained completely unaware that God was in their presence working miracles in their lives. The servants knew, Mary knew, and the disciples knew. Everyone else at the wedding just kept on having a good time oblivious that God was there with them. But for those who did see Him, for those who beheld His glory, He promised them His presence, proved His power, and personally transformed their lives. I hope you see that. It wasn't just the wine that was transformed that day. Because of His glory revealed, the disciples believed. Before they had dared to hope, but now they believe.

I have confidence that God is going to work in Torch to transforms people's lives like He transformed the water. That He will bless us in abundance. That He will bless us in excellence. That He will begin to overwhelm our lives as He takes us from bland Christianity to abundant living in Christ. And I believe that this Sunday, while nothing spectacular, was another step in that direction. 58 people gathered together to worship Him and begin looking for God in our midst. And I believe that for those who looked, we found Him, encountered Him, and are progressively being transformed.

Next week, we will talk about Christ clearing the temple. There's a lot wrong with "church" and the reality is, that should anger us. We should not be content with mediocrity and we should not allow hypocritical leadership and lifestyles. Oh yes, I believe this Sunday will be an interesting and fun discussion.

Pray for me, pray for Torch,

Isaiah 60:1-2
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord shines over you.
For look, darkness covers the earth,
and total darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will shine over you,
and His glory will appear over you.
